Pressed clear glass covered dish, user-attributed to Avon

This is a decorative, round, clear pressed glass covered dish or candy jar featuring intricate geometric and textured patterns across its surface. The lid is topped with a textured, rounded finial surrounded by radiating fluted detailing, which transitions into alternating diamond-quilted panels and circular bullseye motifs encircled by geometric borders. The base of the dish repeats similar molded patterns around its exterior. The item is constructed from colorless, molded glass with smooth interior surfaces and textured exterior facets that catch the light. Regarding condition, the glass appears mostly clear and intact without glaring visible cracks or chips in this view, though minor surface wear consistent with age and handling may be present. The owner's notes indicate that the item features markings reading 'Avon' and suggests it originates from the Avon cosmetics company, an unverified user-supplied claim as maker's marks are not directly legible in the provided photograph. The piece displays a mid-century or vintage aesthetic commonly found in decorative glassware production, but exact age and manufacturing details remain unverified due to the lack of a clearly readable stamp in the image. The identification in the item name rests on the visible physical characteristics of the pressed glass dish, while the brand attribution relies entirely on the owner's unverified report.

Based on what I can see in the provided image, this pressed clear glass covered dish features intricate geometric patterns and a textured finial, displaying a vintage aesthetic consistent with mid-century decorative glassware. Per user submission, the owner identifies this as an Avon product, noting markings reading 'Avon' associated with the cosmetic company. I cannot verify from a photo whether these markings are present or authentic, as maker's marks are not clearly legible in the image, and physical inspection would be needed to confirm. Assuming the user-supplied attribution to Avon is correct, similar vintage decorative glass pieces and candy jars typically trade in the $15 to $30 range, depending on current secondary market demand and overall condition. If the item turns out to be an unattributed piece, a replica, or a generic pressed glass item without the specific brand association, the value would likely decrease to the $5 to $15 range. To establish the actual value and confirm authenticity, an in-person examination by an expert appraiser or careful verification of the hallmark under magnification would be necessary.
