New York New York Hotel & Casino Diecast Taxi Toy Car

This is a collectible 1/43 scale diecast model taxi toy car presented inside a clear acrylic display case with a black plastic base. The vehicle is painted a vibrant yellow color and features a distinctive black and white checkerboard stripe running along the sides and roof edge. The roof is equipped with a rooftop sign displaying the word 'WELCOME' alongside an illustration of the Statue of Liberty. The side doors feature a printed taxi fare schedule graphic detailing rates such as '$1.50 Initial Charge'. The car rests on a black display platform that bears legible white text reading 'New York New York Hotel & Casino'. The owner supplies unverified context stating that the item is brand new from the Las Vegas New York-New York hotel, stored out of the light, and never opened. The transparent acrylic cover appears clean and intact, protecting the contents from dust and environmental wear, though no manufacturer marks or specific production dates are directly legible from the image beyond the hotel branding printed on the base. Craftsmanship details include chrome-colored plastic wheels with treaded tires and molded interior seating visible through the windows. The overall condition appears well-preserved within its protective packaging.

Based on what I can see in the image, this appears to be a 1/43 scale diecast taxi toy car housed in a clear acrylic display case with a black base bearing the text 'New York New York Hotel & Casino'. The vehicle features yellow paint, checkerboard details, and a rooftop 'WELCOME' sign. I can't verify from a photo the exact manufacturing date, maker, or internal component quality, and physical inspection would be needed to confirm the materials and overall condition. The owner identifies this item as brand new from the Las Vegas New York-New York hotel, stored out of the light, and never opened. Assuming this claim is correct, souvenirs and promotional items of this type generally appeal to niche collectors of casino memorabilia or scale models. Comparable novelty diecast models typically trade within a modest market range of $25 to $50, depending on current collector demand. If the item were determined to be a common mass-market replica without direct ties to the promotional merchandise of the era, or if wear is discovered upon opening the case, the value would likely decrease closer to $10-$20. To establish greater certainty regarding its production origin and value, an in-person examination by a specialized collectibles appraiser would be necessary, as no manufacturer marks are visibly legible from the photograph alone.
