Textured Glass Decorative Bowl with Purple Beaded Rim

This is a decorative glass bowl featuring a clear, heavily textured body with an interior pattern reminiscent of fine ice or feathered striations, coupled with prominent raised circular elements across the base. The most striking physical characteristic is the applied rim, which is adorned with a continuous dense band of deep purple, rounded glass beads or prunts creating a vibrant contrasting border. The owner provides context describing this piece as a glass bowl with a purple bubbled rim measuring approximately 25 cm in diameter and weighing 770 grams, though this user-supplied claim is unverified. Visually, the piece shows no immediately apparent maker's marks, signatures, or stamps on the visible surfaces, meaning the identification is based purely on observed design elements rather than a confirmed brand or maker. The construction is characteristic of mid-to-late 20th century or contemporary decorative glassware, displaying solid weight and decorative flair typical of art glass or novelty tableware. In terms of condition, the item appears generally well-preserved with no obvious chips or cracks visible in the photograph, maintaining clear transparency in the body and rich saturation in the purple rim beads.

Based on what I can see in the photograph, this decorative glass bowl features a heavily textured clear body and an applied rim of deep purple glass beads, with the owner reporting dimensions of approximately 25 cm in diameter and a weight of 770 grams. I can't verify from a photo whether these measurements are exact, nor can I evaluate the precise heft or glass composition without physical handling. The piece displays no visible maker's marks or signatures, meaning any assessment relies entirely on stylistic observation rather than a confirmed brand. Based on typical market behavior for mid-to-late 20th century or contemporary decorative art glass of this general aesthetic, comparable bowls generally trade within the $100 to $200 range, provided the condition is as well-preserved as it appears. This valuation assumes the piece is an appealing example of mid-century or modern studio art glass; would need physical inspection to confirm material quality, maker, and age. If physical examination reveals the piece to be a mass-produced reproduction, modern import copy, or merely 'in the style of' higher-end art glass, the value would likely decrease to the $30-$60 range. To establish a stronger evaluation or confirm attribution, an in-person examination by a decorative arts specialist, search for elusive pontil marks or signatures under magnification, and provenance research would be required.
