This item is a two-piece porcelain demitasse cup and matching saucer set, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The set is characterized by a minimalist, mid-century modern aesthetic featuring a pale celadon or 'mint' green wide horizontal band set against a white glazed ground. The design is further accented with thin kiln-fired gold or gilt stripes bordering the color bands. The cup is a petite, tall cylindrical shape with a small 'loop' handle that is fully gilded in a reflective gold finish. The matching saucer features a recessed center to hold the cup, with a corresponding green band and gold rim work. Both pieces exhibit a high-gloss vitreous glaze. Regarding condition, there is visible 'rubbing' or wear to the gold gilt along the rim of the cup and the edge of the saucer, where the white ceramic base shows through.
