Camel Filters cigarette lighter (not authenticated)

This is a small, novelty tabletop or pocket cigarette lighter designed to closely mimic the physical appearance of a classic pack of Camel Filters cigarettes. The item features a rectangular metal or painted plastic body with a lithographed paper wrap or printed metal casing that replicates the iconic vintage Camel cigarette branding. Visible text on the front includes the stylized word 'CAMEL' in bold lettering, 'FILTERS' underneath, an illustration of a dromedary camel standing in front of palm trees and pyramids, and the secondary text 'SMOOTH TURKISH & DOMESTIC BLEND' at the bottom. The top of the object features a simulated tax stamp and two protruding brown plastic or ceramic cylinders meant to resemble the protruding filter tips of cigarettes, with an adjacent opening for the lighter mechanism. The item displays moderate surface wear, including minor scuffing, edge rubbing, and slight fading of the printed colors consistent with age and handling. There is no visible maker's mark or hallmark directly readable in the provided image, so the identification rests purely on the prominent exterior graphics and imagery. The object appears to be a promotional or novelty piece likely manufactured during the latter half of the twentieth century, styled after mid-century tobacco advertising collectibles. Please note that this identification is unverified and the item is not authenticated.

Based on the visual evidence provided in the photograph, I have evaluated this novelty tabletop cigarette lighter styled to resemble a vintage pack of Camel Filters. What I can see is a rectangular body featuring lithographed branding that mirrors classic mid-century tobacco packaging, complete with simulated filter tips at the top and moderate surface wear such as scuffing and edge rubbing. What I cannot determine from a photo is the internal mechanical functionality, the exact material composition, or whether the piece is a period-correct promotional item or a later souvenir replica. Physical inspection would be needed to assess the lighter mechanism and check for any maker's stamps. In the current tobacciana and advertising memorabilia market, novelty lighters of this general type typically trade within a modest range, driven largely by decorative appeal and nostalgia rather than scarcity. My estimated value of $40 to $75 assumes the item aligns with mid-twentieth-century promotional objects of this type. Because this piece is unauthenticated and bears no clear, verifiable maker's mark, this valuation is conditional. If physical inspection were to reveal the piece to be a more recent reproduction, modern novelty replica, or a generic copy 'in the style of' vintage tobacco advertising rather than an era-appropriate promotional item, the market value would likely drop closer to $15–$25. To fully establish authenticity and value, an in-person examination by a tobacciana specialist would be necessary to evaluate manufacturing techniques, materials, and wear patterns.
