Late Victorian Colonial Revival Brass Two-Light Sconces with Frosted Glass Shades

This set of vintage lighting fixtures comprises a pair of two-light wall sconces crafted from cast and turned brass, accompanied by frosted and etched glass shades. The sconces feature a Colonial Revival design with heavy Neoclassical influences, characterized by a central vertical spindle with gadrooned and acanthus leaf detailing. The backplates are rectangular with shaped, chamfered corners. Two horizontal arms extend to support cylindrical lamp holders topped with flared galleries intended to secure the shades. The metal exhibits a warm, golden brass finish with a mixed patina; there is significant tarnish, light surface oxidation, and some minor pitting consistent with age and exposure. The electrical components appear to be older wiring with standard Edison-base sockets, suggesting a mid-20th-century refurbishment or manufacture date imitating the late 19th-century aesthetic. The accompanying frosted glass globes feature a combination of thumbprint-style cut bands around the upper rim and delicate floral/foliate etched patterns on the bulbous bodies.
