Mixed media painting featuring reclining figures

This is a large-format mixed media artwork measuring approximately 48 by 36 inches, as reported by the owner. The composition depicts two stylized, reclining figures rendered with bold, sweeping black contour lines against a muted grey background. The application utilizes a vibrant palette of aerosol spray paint and fluid pigments, featuring saturated tones of crimson red, electric blue, bright yellow, and subtle green accents, characterized by visible drips and pooling at the lower edges. The overall aesthetic leans toward contemporary urban art or neo-expressionist street art styles. A notable rectangular geometric motif on the left side incorporates blocky yellow and red areas with simulated handwritten scribbles and symbols. There are no clearly visible signatures, maker's marks, or dates discernible in the image, rendering the specific authorship unverified. The physical condition appears generally clean with intentional paint drips forming part of the artistic execution. The owner has provided context noting the dimensions as 48x36 inches, but this measurement and any unstated provenance remain unauthenticated.

Based on the visual evidence provided in the photograph, I have evaluated this large-format mixed media painting depicting reclining figures. Based on what I can see, the composition utilizes bold contour lines, aerosol spray paint, and fluid pigments on a grey ground, measuring an owner-reported 48 by 36 inches. I can't verify from a photo whether the materials or application are period-correct, and physical inspection would be needed to confirm the medium's stability and surface texture. There are no clearly visible signatures or maker's marks, leaving the specific authorship unverified. The owner identifies this as an unattributed contemporary urban art piece; thus, my estimate of $2,500 to $4,000 reflects market values for large-scale, neo-expressionist mixed media works of this aesthetic type, assuming the owner's descriptive details are accurate. General market demand for contemporary street-style works featuring bold figurative imagery remains active among decorative and emerging fine art collectors, though pricing varies widely based on provenance. To establish a more precise valuation and confirm authenticity, an in-person physical examination by a fine art specialist, detailed provenance documentation, and potential expert art-market consultation would be necessary. If this work were to turn out to be a mass-produced reproduction, decorative replica, or an unattributed copy 'in the style of' rather than an original studio creation, the market value would drop significantly, typically falling into a decorative range of $300 to $600.
