Premier Designs 'Whirly' Swirl Statement Necklace

This is a substantial statement necklace from Premier Designs, featuring a large, removable pendant on a 15-inch snake chain. The pendant measures 2 inches high by 2 1/4 inches wide and is characterized by a multi-layered, concentric spiral or 'whirl' motif. The design incorporates textured, antiqued silver-tone metal with etched eye-like or petal patterns on the concentric rings, leading to a central textured wave. A notable mechanical feature is the magnetic snap closure on the back of the pendant, which allows it to be easily added or removed from the chain. The combined weight of the necklace is approximately 40 grams, with the pendant alone contributing 21 grams, indicating a heavy, solid construction characteristic of higher-end costume jewelry. While the user suggests it may be sterling silver, Premier Designs typically utilized silver-plated base metals with an antiqued finish to achieve this look. The chain includes a lobster claw clasp and an extender for adjustable length. The condition appears to be very good with light surface patina consistent with its stylistic 'oxidized' finish. The 'PD' Premier Designs maker's mark is present on the chain's hangtag and the interior of the pendant, dating the piece to the late 20th or early 21st century.
