The glass body is supported by a highly decorative cast brass or gilt bronze stand that features scrolled, zoomorphic motifs resembling seahorses or mythical creatures, ending in clawed feet. A notable feature is the nautical theme, highlighted by the shell-shaped metal stopper at the top and the shell-shaped faucet handle and spout at the front. The brass end-cap encircling the front face shows fine ornamental etching.
