Vintage Westclox Big Ben Alarm Clock

This is a vintage Westclox 'Big Ben' mechanical alarm clock, likely a Style 1 or early Style 2 model dating from approximately 1910 to 1925. The clock features a large, nickel-plated circular steel case with a top-mounted ring handle and two small peg feet at the base for stabilization. The face is protected by a convex glass crystal and showcases a white or light-cream dial with bold, black Arabic numerals. A small sub-dial for the alarm setting is located just below the 12 o'clock position. The center of the dial clearly bears the 'Westclox Big Ben' branding. The blued steel hands include a spade-style hour hand and a whip-style minute hand. Construction is robust, characteristic of early 20th-century industrial design intended for durability. Condition-wise, the clock shows significant signs of age and patina. There is visible surface oxidation, pitting, and tarnishing on the nickel plating. The dial exhibits yellowing, some foxing (spotting), and minor staining, particularly near the 8 o'clock mark. The glass appears intact but may have light surface scratches. This timepiece is a classic example of American horological manufacture from the Western Clock Company of LaSalle, Illinois.
