This is a substantial table lamp designed in the Hollywood Regency style, featuring a tropical palm tree motif. The base is constructed from a cast composite material or resin, textured to mimic the overlapping husks of a palm tree trunk. The finish on the trunk is a distressed gold or gilt wash over a white ground, creating a weathered, antique aesthetic. It sits upon a circular, stepped base with a dark, marbled or faux-painted finish that provides contrast to the bright trunk. The lamp is topped with a cream-colored, pleated fabric Empire shade. Notably, a decorative metallic crown of palm fronds or spiky leaves emerges from the top of the shade, serving as a unique finial and integrated design element.
