Vintage Chinese Faux Pearl and Gilt Wire Bonsai Tree in Famille Rose Porcelain Cup

This decorative miniature bonsai tree is meticulously constructed from gold-toned (gilt) wire, faux pearls, and metal leaves. The central trunk features a tightly coiled wire design that gracefully curves upward, branching into an expansive canopy of smaller wire limbs. These branches are adorned with numerous white imitation seed pearls and elongated teardrop pearls, interspersed with small, stamped gold-toned metal leaves. The base of the sculpture is set into a small, mid-20th-century Chinese porcelain tea cup. The cup is decorated in the 'Wan Shou Wu Jiang' (Longevity Without Bound) pattern, featuring a red-orange ground with multi-colored scrollwork, a Greek key border at the rim, and circular cartouches containing Chinese characters. The porcelain displays typical famille rose enameling techniques. The condition appears fair to good, with some slight oxidation or darkening on the wire and some irregular spacing in the beadwork, which is common for handmade wire sculptures of this type. The cup shows no visible cracks from the front, though the setting material inside the cup is not fully visible. This style of decorative auspicious tree became popular for export and domestic display during the mid-to-late 20th century.
