1964 Greek 30 Drachmai Coin Keychain

This item is a vintage keychain featuring a modified 1964 Greek 30 Drachmai silver coin. The keychain consists of three main components: a u-shaped key ring, a multi-link chain, and the coin itself. The key ring appears to be made of a silver-toned metal, possibly sterling silver given the '900' stamp visible on the crossbar, which denotes a silver purity of 90%. It is constructed with a hinged mechanism that allows it to open and close, secured by two small rivets or pins on either side of the crossbar. The chain is composed of oval-shaped links, also silver-toned, and connects the key ring to the coin through a small jump ring attached to a drilled hole in the coin's edge. The coin is a 1964 Greek 30 Drachmai issue, commemorating the royal wedding of King Constantine II and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark. Its obverse clearly displays a conjoined bust of the royal couple facing right. King Constantine II is depicted in military uniform with medals, while Princess Anne-Marie is shown in profile. The inscription 'ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ ΑΝΝΑ-ΜΑΡΙΑ' (Constantine King of the Hellenes Anne-Marie) is visible around the periphery. The coin exhibits a natural patina consistent with age, with some darkening in the recessed areas enhancing the details of the portraits. There are no significant scratches or dings, but the coin has clearly been modified for use as a keychain, as evidenced by the drilled hole at the top.
