RCA Victor Model 8-BX-6 Portable 'Strato-World' Era Tube Radio

This is a mid-20th century portable radio manufactured by RCA Victor, likely dating from the late 1940s to early 1950s. The unit features a distinctive faux-tortoise or woodgrain patterned plastic (likely Bakelite or early Catalin) upper chassis paired with a metallic silver-toned horizontal slotted grille on the lower half. The most prominent feature is the large circular tuning dial centered on the front face, which displays the 'RCA Victor' branding in a classic serif font and lists AM frequencies (55 to 160). The dial is framed by a chrome-finished bezel and features a gold-toned center cap. The radio is designed for portability, evidenced by the top-mounted fold-down handle.
